Mike is Deputy Director for Health Protection in the PHE’s Yorkshire and Humber Centre based in Leeds. Mike trained as a GP before working abroad in Bosnia, Lebanon and Angola, later becoming a Consultant in Communicable Disease Control.
Mike’s interests include environmental public health, sustainable development and the wider determinants of health including transport and the built environment. He is particularly interested in how we can work with other professionals including planners and developers to embed public health principles to ensure that our towns and cities of the future are more environmentally friendly, sustainable and healthier.
