Mike Gent

Dr Mike Gent is the Deputy Director, Health Protection for Yorkshire and the Humber Centre, leading on all areas of health protection including communicable diseases, radiation, chemical and environmental threats. Mike originally trained as a GP before working in Bosnia, Lebanon and Angola, returning to the UK in 2000 to undertake public health training. Mike has particular expertise in the areas of sustainable development, environmental hazards and extreme events, emergency preparedness, resilience and response (EPRR) and information security.
