Marilena Korkodilos

Marilena is Deputy Regional Director for Specialist Public Health Services at PHE (London). She qualified in medicine from University College London Medical School in 1994. After registration, she worked in paediatrics and subsequently the Confidential Enquiry into Stillbirth and Deaths in Infancy.

Marilena joined the Eastern Deanery Public Health Training Scheme in 2002. In 2005 she was seconded to the Health Inequalities Unit at the Department of Health (DH). She was responsible for the cross government Review of the Health Inequalities Infant Mortality PSA Target, which was published in February 2007 and subsequent Implementation Plan for Reducing Health Inequalities in Infant Mortality: A Good Practice Guide, published in December 2007.

Marilena subsequently worked as a Consultant in Public Health Medicine in the Public Health Workforce and Capacity Team at DH, Head of the Infant Mortality and Vaccination and Immunisation National Support Teams at DH and as Public Health Director at the London Specialised Commissioning Group before taking up her current post in April 2013.
