Lina Toleikyte

Lina Toleikyte is senior Public Health Manager and the lead for Place-based approaches on Health Inequalities in Public Health England (PHE). As part of her national role, she leads on segments of health equity and inequalities agenda through coordination of a number of complex national initiatives.

She is highly experienced qualified public health professional with over 15 years of public health experience in two economically contrasting European countries and their health systems. Lina has an extensive experience working both for the NHS and local government as joint appointment, leading and delivering on a wide range of portfolios and programmes focused on addressing the social determinants of health, and promoting settings-based approaches to health improvement. She used to lead on a number of evidence-based integrated commissioning and de-commissioning of local public health and healthcare services.

In her previous role with World Health Organisation (WHO), Lina led on the implementation of WHO Health Promoting Hospital (HPH) programme and contributed to academic public health internationally.

She is an experienced public health leader with publishing on health inequalities and equity, Health in All Policies /global health partnerships and with special interest in evidence based practice in health protection.
