Alison Keating has been head of alcohol and drugs since PHE was established and was the NTA regional manager for drug treatment prior to this. She has led PHE London’s region response to tobacco since January 2017. The alcohol, drugs and tobacco team supports the reduction of harms caused by substance misuse to individuals, families and communities. This is achieved by working closely with national, regional and local partners, facilitating a range of forums and maintaining a focus on the data and outcomes.
Following the publication of the new Government Drug Strategy it is worth taking the time to reflect on the progress we’re making in drug treatment and harm reduction in London and nationally, and the challenges that still remain.
